I was meant to read Dysfunctional Romance as book 2, but after enjoying The Hunger Games so much, it made sense to go straight in to the sequel, Catching Fire.
Catching Fire continues the story of Katniss & Peeta and their struggle to adapt to life as victors of the Hunger Games. I'm not going to give a review of the book, as that will only spoil it for those who have yet to read the book! What I will say is that I couldn't put the bugger down, I was looking for an excuse to read it when ever I could, encouraging The H to play on his Xbox after work, while he was busy shooting up bad guys on whichever Call of Duty game he's playing! I enjoyed the new character's that are introduced and also learning more about the old ones, especially Gale and Haymitch, who we never got to know much about in the previous book.
After enjoying the book so much there was no way I could skip Mockingjay, so on to the last of the trilogy. I found that this one just flew by, to the point where I slowed down so it could last a bit longer, daft I know! I felt quite sad once I'd reached the end, not wanting to leave the world that Suzanne Collins has created.
These books are brilliant, I can't wait to reread them again in the future and look forward to watching the films.
